TYPES OF MIGRAINE
If you have a headache, the first thing that may come in to your mind is that you have a migraine.
Do you know that there are different types? Knowing which one will help you identify the proper medication for your
condition. It is crucial that you get the proper treatment. There are many kinds aside from ones with aura or without
aura; here are just some of the following. Basilar artery involves a disorder in the basilar system in the stem of the
brain. Its symptoms are slurred speech, poor muscle coordination, double vision, vertigo and of course, headache. It
often happens in young children.
There is also a type that is called carotidynia. It is better known as a facial or a lower-half migraine.
It creates a deep and penetrating pain in the neck or in the jaw. One of the symptoms of carotidynia is that there is often
a swelling in the carotid artery in the neck. People who suffer from it often experience this several times a week and it
lasts a few minutes to even hours. People who are of age or older people often are the victims of this type. There is also
what we call a headache-free kind.
Another type of migraine is called ophthalmoplegic. It occurs first in the eye and then there is vomiting
involved. As it develops, the eyelid sags and the nerves which are responsible for the movement of the eye begin to paralyze.
This may continue for several weeks.
