OVERVIEW ON MIGRAINES
There are several types of over the counter medicines to treat migraine.
Among these drugs are three medications that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved.
Among them is the Excedrin Migraine, which is a combination of acetaminophen, caffeine and aspirin.
This is actually the first drug which was approved by the FDA and is recognized to treat migraines and
its known symptoms. This medicine is also recognized to treat 70% of its patients and even helps
women in their menstrual migraines. Other drugs that have also been approved of to treat migraines
are Advil Migraine and Motrin Migraine Pain, which both contain ibuprofen.
There are also other kinds of drugs that serve as migraine remedy. Among them is what is called
Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs). These drugs are known to have treated mild to severe migraines. The
benefit of a sufferer taking NSAIDs drugs is that it contains acetaminophen and naproxen, which are known to help in
curing migraines. This drug is also recognized to help cure nausea, and it is not recommended for people who are at
a risk of bleeding and for people who are allergic to aspirin. There are also other injected NSAIDs which are also
known to help alleviate the pain of migraine and works better than other drugs. There have been reports ands studies
that these drugs cure patients of their migraines.
Aside from taking drugs, there are still other ways to help cure migraines. Among them is the
cooling pads, which is applied during an attack and it cools the skin up to four hours and can be placed anywhere
near the affected area.
